What if the "Man of Steel" Went Bad?
- "Although it's not officially a Superman movie, it walks viewers through every step of Clark Kent's origin story before taking a hard left turn."

Brightburn intentionally takes cues from the Superman mythos and then immediately turns them on their head. Like Superman, Brandon Breyer was born on another world and came to Earth, landing in the state of Kansas, where he is adopted by childless parents. Like Superman, he is made to believe, by his mother, that he is a special gift to this world—something that becomes all too real for him when his powers begin to manifest. But that is about where their similarities end.
…or is it? Superman, born Kal-El and known as Clark Kent to most of his human companions, has been around since 1938. Since then, the Superman mythos has grown to include numerous incarnations of the beloved character, including some not too friendly versions of the Man of Steel. This wiki also documents the parallels found between Brightburn and the Superman mythos.
